Focused Friday

Hey guys! With all that has been happening in 2020, how many of you have lost sight of some things? I know that I most certainly have. I was talking to a friend of mine and came to the conclusion that I really need to pay closer attention to certain areas of my life that have been negatively impacting my mental health.

I have joined a few challenges that really motivate self care. Yesterday’s task was to write down one thing that I could do everyday that would enhance my mental health. For me, the answer was to be more proud of the things that I have accomplished rather than being frustrated with the processes that I am currently in. I tend to be harder on myself than necessary at any given moment (especially regarding my parenting). This way of thinking often leaves me with heightened anxiety and grasping at straws trying to figure out how to get it done quicker. Getting things done quicker, does not always equal getting things done to the best of my ability. Ever heard the saying “haste makes waste”, this is FACTS! I took the time to really expound on what I could do to enhance my mental health. I have come up with four things that I will focus on for the month of October.

Each week of the month I will focus on one of these things and on Fridays I will reflect on how I feel, if I need to approach it differently or if it is working out well for me. What do you need to focus on? Could you benefit from this activity? Try it and see? Let me know how you make out.
