What’s in a Name?

A good friend of mine once told me that I should share myself with people. My experiences, my insights and my sense of self (in whatever state I find myself in). So here I am, sharing pieces of me…with YOU! Thank you for coming.

Now, why Daisies and Cacti? Daisies are my favorite flower (Gerber Daisies to be more precise), however, the cactus is my favorite plant. It is my favorite because it is the most resilient. Sometimes, life gives us weather that is fair; moments when we feel that life is good and “daisies” can bloom with ease; but what about the times when things are bad? What about when life is dry and desolate, and you feel all alone? It is in these times when you have to learn to appreciate the cacti. In the driest of condition they thrive. They are able to sustain because of the way they are composed. Cacti, like camels, store water. They are built for the conditions they are in and they thrive in spite of how harsh things may be, and sometimes, flowers grow.

Daisies and Cacti will be an open, transparent glance into my thoughts, insights and adventures; the good, the bad and the indifferent. It will be fun, intense, uplifting, reflective and spiritual; maybe even some product reviews. Some posts will be longer than others but they will all be meaningful moments. I hope you enjoy them as much as I will enjoy sharing them with you.

As we embark on 2020, welcome to Adventures in XandiLand! Let’s get started!!!

Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. β€” Izaak Walton

  1. Looking forward to this amazing blog. I never thought of a cactus that way. But you’re so right!!!!! I’m striving to be like the cactus this new year, stronger than ever and pushing through.
